Temecula Valley Sewing Center

This is my family business website, and is what got me in to web design in the first place. The site is the product of countless hours of work, and is hosted on two servers. One server holds the main site and customer email database, and the other server holds the bookstore, the form processer, and a tips and tricks area that has yet to be released. The actual template of this site was never meant to scale as large as the entire site is now, but with only a few exceptions in regards to accessibility, the site is performing so well that changing it now might be a mistake. I've made various holiday themes for the site, so depending on when you visit, it may look different than the preview to the left.

Anna Allen & Associates - Chilean Land Investment Proposal

This website was started using an existing website template by G. Wolfgang of www.1-2-3-4.info. Having me use an existing template can be a great way for you to save money on your website design. Due to the nature of the content for this site, it was impossible to keep the template structure the way it came from G. Wolfgang, but for many people this template could be a great choice.

The resulting site is fairly simple. Theres a secure area which holds semi-sensitive information about the Chilean land. You won't be able to see that area of the website unless you ask Anna Allen & Associates for the password. The site is hosted by IX Web Hosting, who had everything we needed to set up the secure area in literally minutes. I had this site up and running in two nights worth of work. All of the site content was given to me in advance, so it was truly a pleasure to work on.

Real Estate Concierge

This website was done for Monica Atherton of Real Estate Concierge in Murrieta. The look of the template was derived from a template that she had purchased, but that template was basically unusable for a quality website. I converted the look of the template she purchased to a standardized CSS/XHTML template. Monica's needs for the website eventually made it necessary to adapt the template to five different page layouts.

The Old B.W.D. Website

The old "Brian's Web Design" website was more of an experiment than anything else. The text that flows around the laptop computer in the upper box is of moderate complexity, and if you are into checking out source code, I think you will be pleased to see how it was done. Another interesting part of the old site is the message form validation. Originally a full AJAX validated form, I decided to make the script all run client-side so that it would run faster with onKeyUp javascript event handlers. Lastly, the laptop picture itself is a nice photo edited image that I produced in Photoshop. I didn't feel that this old site looked professional, so I made a new one. Everyone likes the new site except my mom. I guess ya can't please everyone!

Temecula Pool Service

This website was made for A+ Pool Service of Temecula. Like the Real Estate Concierge website, this site's original template was purchased elsewhere. The template was also very low quality, and required conversion to a standards based CSS/XHTML design. You will notice that the home page has a Flash animated menu, and this was painstakenly edited to meet the requirements of A+ Pool Service. Flash programming and editing isn't exactly my specialty, but I pulled it off, and the site works well! The flash degrades well to alternate content, and the tracking statistics are showing that the site is attracting people who search for the keywords and phrases that were considered critical.

Rick Stier's PIANOLatte

This website was developed and designed for Rick Stier, who is a Christian pianist from Temecula, CA. Working on this site with Rick has shown a perfect example of how having a close designer/customer relationship is essential. Rick had ideas about how he wanted his website to look, and it was only through many emails, phone calls, and personal meetings with Rick that I was able to come up with a website that Rick loved. While Rick had initially requested that I use an existing template, we ended up needing a totally custom template. Rick had full control to tell me exactly what he wanted for his site, and I continue to update his website as needed. Not only was this project a pleasure to work on, but Rick played his gorgeous Steinway piano for me. I will tell you, if you love great piano music, you really should purchase his CD! Rick's piano playing is amazing!

EvaSlim's Quiz & User Registration Program

The quiz form and registration form on EvaSlim's website was a great php programming project for me. I love working with php, and I had a lot of fun doing this job. The quiz itself is actually generated dynamically from an XML script. When the questions are pulled in by php, php dynamically generates the javascript validation to make sure all questions are answered. When the user is finished with the quiz, they are prompted to register and answer some personal questions to receive the results of the quiz by email. Once the registration form is filled out, the quiz results are emailed to the user, and the user's registration details are sent to a database so that EvaSlim can contact the user. There's actually alot more going on than explained here, but I'm trying to keep it simple for the non-programmers who may read this summary.

The Word For Asia

Byron Pirolo's "The Word For Asia" website is a brochure type website for his Christian ministry. There really isn't anything all that amazing about the website itself, but I'm honored to have created a website for this ministry. Due the sensitive nature of Byron's ministry, I can't discuss the details here. If you'd like to know more about Byron's special ministry, feel free to contact either him or me, and one of us would be delighted to tell you about it.

IAMsentme Christian Community

I really loved designing and developing this website. The site had a nice directory of Christian businesses, a forum, and a listing of local Christian churches. It was my first attempt at using php with a MySQL database, and an expiramentation with a totally fluid CSS layout. The site is no longer live on the web, but the template was donated to the open source community. If you would like to use this template, simply download the stylesheet, and this page's source code. You're free to use it any way you wish. The only restriction is that you must agree not to use it for an adult website. The IAMsentme.com domain is for sale. If you'd like to purchase the domain, please contact me with your bid.

My 2006 Personal Website

I got the idea for this website template's basic structure from one of the CSS Zen-Garden templates; click here to see it. While basic in complexity, this site actually has some really great content. The home page content is a summary of my notes from an evangelism class, which shares a technique of approaching somebody and sharing my belief in Jesus Christ. There are also two Windows XP tutorials; One tutorial is about changing the start button color and text, and the other tutorial is about installing a custom open folder icon for Windows Explorer. Lastly, there is a page with outdated pictures of my son for you to enjoy.

SheaLicious - Body Butter

This website was made for Anna Allen, owner of SheaLicious, LLC. The template for this site has been designed with accessibility in mind, and incorporates a "sticky footer". Due to an unfortunate event at the SheaLicious warehouse, the shopping catalog, cart, and checkout system had to be taken down until further notice.
