Brian's Web Design

Get to know me a little better ...

About Me

Hello, and thank you for coming to my website!

This "All About Brian" page is sort of an online resume, so that you can learn more about me. Since I have a Portfolio Page that shows my work on the web, these website projects have not been included in the work experience section. As a freelance web designer, I have also worked on portions of people's websites that were so poorly designed (not by me), that I would be embarrassed to be associated with them. That said, if there is anything else you would like to know about me, please use the message form on my Contact Page to send me a message.

Thank you,
Brian Gottier

How'd I Get Started?

About 5 years ago, I had a webmaster that was doing a terrible job of updating my family's business website. When we wanted updates done, I would send emails, regular mail, and make phone calls to this webmaster, but the updates would either get done when the content was past due, or not get done at all! Because having a good website is so critical, I needed to have a reliable webmaster. I decided that I would learn what it took to do the updates myself.

Over time I learned more and more about web design. I had to, because a nice website isn't easy to maintain. I had goals of making a new website, too. I re-designed my business website more than once, learning more and more as time went by, and the experience led to other people hiring me to design or develop their websites.

So that's how I got started. This should be a lesson to all the flaky web designers out there! In the world of business, website updates need to be made quickly.
